GOOD QUESTIONS, CLEAR ANSWERS

Before you
come aboard.

What if I am not happy with my report?

Request a full refund from your report. No explanation or correction attempt is required. Refunds go to your original payment method; bank processing usually takes 5–10 business days after issue.

What repairs and engines are supported?

We accept estimates nationwide. Our first comparisons cover selected routine services for Yamaha, Mercury, Suzuki and Honda gasoline four-stroke outboards. We use your engine and service details to choose relevant references, label geography and scope differences, and screen selected published recall notices. We start in San Diego and welcome estimates nationwide.

Does QuoteBuoy replace a mechanic or diagnose my engine?

No. We help explain an estimate and prepare questions. We do not inspect a vessel, diagnose faults, determine seaworthiness or decide whether a repair is mechanically necessary.

What if my quote cannot be benchmarked?

A useful report can include itemized charge checks, published owner and shop price context, scope questions and recall follow-up even without a local market range. You see the report basis before checkout. If we cannot produce useful findings, you are not asked to pay.

Do you work with mobile mechanics?

Yes. We separate labor, travel and other fees, and label the service conditions behind published price examples. A dockside visit should be understood on its own terms.

Does a higher parts price mean the shop is overcharging?

No. Retail price differences are not dealer-cost markup. Sourcing, availability, genuine versus aftermarket parts, warranty and package inclusions can all matter.

How accurate is the analysis?

You confirm the extracted amounts, and each report connects its findings to your estimate, published shop prices or attributed owner experiences. Reports use automated analysis of your estimate and published sources. Human help is available if you have questions. Exact comparisons and broader context are labelled separately so you can use each appropriately.

When will I receive my report?

Your eligible report is generated before checkout and opens at your private link after payment confirmation. Save that link to return on any device.
